Anti-dumping duty on cast aluminium wheels from PRC extended for the period of repeated investigation

According to the Chinese Trade Remedy Information website, the Internal Market Protection Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission issued Announcement No. 2024/396/AD24R. based on Resolution No. 23 of March 19, 2024, the Commission decided to extend the validity of the anti-dumping tax on aluminum alloy wheels originating from China until December 26, 2024, maintaining the current tax rate of 33.69%. This measure will take effect within 30 days of the announcement.

Anti-dumping duty on cast aluminium wheels from PRC extended for the period of repeated investigation

Looking back, as early as March 2018, the Eurasian Economic Union initiated an anti-dumping investigation on Chinese aluminum alloy wheels. Subsequently, on March 26, 2019, the Union, through Resolution No. 43, began imposing a five-year anti-dumping tax on Chinese products, with the initial rate also set at 33.69%. The original plan was for this measure to expire on April 27, 2024. As the original deadline approached, the Union initiated the first sunset review investigation and decided to extend the tax deadline after the review.

The products subject to the extended tax mainly involve specific specifications of aluminum alloy wheels - products with a maximum load of 1150 kg, diameters ranging from 13 inches to 20 inches, and a center hole diameter not exceeding 131 mm. These products are classified under tariff numbers 8708 70 500 1 and 8708 70 500 9 in the Eurasian Economic Union. This decision aims to continue protecting the Union's internal industry from the impact of low-priced imported products.
