Bridging the Gap from Die Casting to Precision Machining
Precisioner, a die casting mold specialist with 17 years of industry experience, has officially expanded its business to include fixture and jig manufacturing. This move enables customers to access fully integrated mold and fixturing solutions — from tooling design through to precision machining.
“The mold determines the as-cast quality of the part; the fixture determines the final machining accuracy.”
Why Fixtures?
Precisioner understands the material behavior, distortion patterns, and tolerance requirements of aluminum, magnesium, and zinc die castings. Seventeen years of mold-making experience have taught us that even a well-executed casting can fail if the clamping process is not properly controlled.
In many cases, the root cause of efficiency bottlenecks and yield issues lies not in the mold itself, but in the downstream fixturing stage. Die castings are often thin-walled, geometrically complex, and characterized by uneven stock. Conventional fixture designs frequently overlook these specific characteristics, leading to excessive clamping force or poorly placed support points. The result? Dimensions shift as soon as the part is unclamped.
Adding to the challenge, molds that have been in production for extended periods may develop minor wear or distortion. This gradually compromises casting consistency—and ultimately, the fixturing system is left to absorb all that variability. When the fixture reaches its limit, yield rates drop.
This is precisely why Precisioner has brought its mold-making expertise into fixture design, building on four core strengths:
Material Expertise — Deep knowledge of stress-relief behavior in aluminum, magnesium, and zinc alloys allows us to anticipate distortion patterns and compensate for them in fixture design.
Process Understanding — A full-process perspective from casting to machining ensures that fixture design is optimized for the complete production workflow.
Accuracy — We apply mold-grade precision standards to fixture manufacturing, delivering reliable positioning and repeatable clamping.
Expanding into fixturing is a natural extension of what we already do best: connecting casting formation with precision machining.
